Mountain views from Mountain Gate” – January 2019
Visited here for dinner passing through the area. Started off with the seared Tasmanian scallops which were interesting on the palate served with the cauliflower puree. I moved on to the Argentinian prawns which have a good spicy undertone but are not overwhelming and have a mix of capsicum and onion along with clams . My husband had the Hellenic baked lamb which was cooked perfectly and fell apart when a fork came near it. The feta stuffed peppers were a good accompaniment to the lamb. Dessert was churros which were dripping in chocolate sauce. The staff were friendly and not intrusive and the service was quick. There is a fairly extensive drinks menu as well as some favourite cocktails. We will definitely return if we are in the area.- mrsincranny

“A real diamond” – 31 December 2018

We decided to have brunch here as we had heard such a lot of good things about Montania, we were not disappointed, the tables outside were lovely , the staff were friendly and charming, the food was well worth the drive , and the owner (George) is a fantastic guy who loves what he does. I would recommend that you make the effort to go eat here as it is well worth it. We will definitely go back (next time we are over from the UK) What a brilliant place!- Streetwise02

“Cosy and warm with lovely food.” – 18 August 2018
Dropped in to Montania one Winter’s night on the fly. We were greeted warmly and seated. Montania has a real, cosy atmosphere. There is easy parking outside, and both the food and wine menus offer variety. The wait staff are friendly and very efficient, although it did take a little while for our orders to be taken. Portion sizes are great and so is the quality of the food for the prices. It was a quick drop in and we only had mains, but we will certainly be back to spend more time. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.- ddiston
